COURT ORDERED
COMMUNITY SERVICE

Ruff Haven Crisis Sheltering accepts court ordered Community Service (CS) volunteers. We are unable to accept animal related, domestic violence, violent, or sex offenses. Each offense will be looked at individually and we reserve the right to refuse a volunteer for any reason. We are not a traditional animal shelter. Our animals are housed at a dog boarding facility and due to the nature of our operations have unique volunteer requirements and hours.

Basic Requirements for CS Volunteers

  • Must be at least 18-years old.

  • Must have a working email account and be able to access the Internet to sign up for shifts.

  • Must be willing to complete the majority of your community service hours with Ruff Haven.

  • Watch a 30 minute training presentation and complete the short online quiz. You will receive 1 hour of credit for completing this.

  • Attend an on-site orientation

  • Be willing to clean kennels, change litter boxes, clean the facility, pick up animal feces, etc.
