Are you at least 18 years old and live in the Salt Lake City area?

Then join our Foster Sitter program!  As a traditional foster pet parent for an animal shelter or rescue you agree to take a homeless dog or cat into your home until that animal is adopted. When you become a Foster Sitter for Ruff Haven you are agreeing to temporarily care for an animal who already has a loving, permanent owner who is experiencing a short-term hardship. We like to think of it as a foster parent/pet-sitter hybrid!

Companion animals thrive in a home environment and providing a temporary haven for them not only minimizes stress for the pet but also for their person.  As these are owned pets we receive a great deal of information regarding their behaviors and personality (good with other animals, children, litter box trained, high energy, etc.), allowing us to carefully match you to a specific animal.

Anyone can become a Foster Sitter. Whether you live in a house, an apartment, work outside the home, have pets or children, we can find a four-legged match for you. Fostering is perfect for people who may not want the commitment of adopting a pet or just want to help serve the local community and its pet owners.
