Description:
Lucy is a deeply loving, gentle‑souled dog who wants nothing more than to curl up beside someone and be their cozy little shadow. She’s happiest snuggled on the couch, soaking up affection, and being close to her people. She is fully potty trained, and crate trained — though she does best when her crate is in a common area where she can still feel connected. She knows “sit” and “down,” is working on “stay,” and walks well on a leash, though she can pull at times.
But Lucy also has some behavioral challenges that we haven’t been able to give her the right environment to work through. She can be reactive and aggressive toward other dogs, and she becomes assertive or nervous around unfamiliar people. She has never bitten, but she has nipped when she feels overwhelmed or unsure.
Because of this, Lucy needs a very specific kind of home — one without other animals or children, and with someone who understands reactive behavior or is willing to learn and work patiently with her. She needs a calm, structured environment where she can feel safe, supported, and understood.
Lucy is not a “bad dog.” She is a sweet, sensitive girl who has so much love to give — she just needs the right person who can meet her where she is and help her grow. I truly believe that person is out there. Someone who sees her potential, who can guide her with confidence and compassion, and who will give her the stable, loving home she deserves.
