Description:
Dragon is a 6-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Weighing in at 62 pounds, he’s the perfect mix of energetic and laid-back — ready to play hard when it’s time for fun, and just as happy to turn into a full-on couch potato in the evenings.
Dragon loves anything that gets him moving and thinking. His favorite activities include swimming, tug-of-war, fetch, long walks, and, of course, treats and food. When the day winds down, he’s all about cuddles and relaxing by your side.
He is very well trained and knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, lay down, shake, spin, hold it, leave it, heel (he’s working on this one), place, roll over, drop it, and gentle. He is fully house trained, sleeps comfortably in a kennel at night, and does well with structure and routine.
Dragon is neutered, fully vaccinated, and in great health.
Dragon is a deeply loyal dog who bonds strongly with his people. He does best in a calm, predictable environment and prefers a home without children, as he can feel anxious around the unpredictability of kids. He is cautious with strangers and does best when introductions are slow and respectful.
He is selective with other dogs. He does not like small dogs, but can play well with larger dogs in the right, controlled setting. For walks, it is best to avoid close interactions with other dogs.
Dragon has a few endearing quirks — he is not a fan of wind, thunder, or sprinklers, and while he will tolerate a bath, he will definitely let you know he does not enjoy it. He loves toys, especially ropes, but will destroy most others and has a habit of swallowing squeakers, so those should be avoided.
Dragon is looking for a loving person or couple who enjoys spending time with their dog every day. He thrives with daily walks, playtime, and a consistent routine. A home without children, with a comfy couch to share and a person who values a strong, loyal bond, would be his dream come true. He would do best as the only animal, or maybe with another large dog.
If you are looking for a devoted companion who will be both your adventure buddy and your evening cuddle partner, Dragon may be the perfect match.
